Well, the Rougarou sure doesn't like to get wet! He's decided to come back and visit this week to be sure he stays dry!
Come find the Rougarou at Tickfaw State Park Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Rougarou Hunt Contest Rules:
1.) Participants must be ages 6 – 14 years of age and accompanied by an adult.
2.) Sign in/out at the Entrance Station, day use fees apply.
3.) Time begins 5 minutes after leaving the Entrance Station.
4.) Hunt and locate the Rougarou lurking along a trail or common areas, including the Fishing Pond, but not inside the RV or Tent Loop of the campground.
5.) Take a photo with the Rougarou and return to the Entrance Station with photo proof of your find.
6.) Fastest/best time will be the winner and declared the month’s Legendary Hunter of the Rougarou. Winner will be notified, receive a prize, and their photo will be posted to the park’s Facebook page.
7.) Only one individual participant will be chosen as the winner.
8.) Enjoy a day in the park hiking and exploring, and most importantly have some fun!
