The Rougarou is back at Tickfaw State Park!
Join us on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM for your chance to spot the legendary Rougarou hiding in the park!

Rougarou Hunt Contest Rules:
1.) Participants must be ages 6 – 14 years of age and accompanied by an adult.
2.) Sign in/out at the Entrance Station, day use fees apply.
3.) Time begins 5 minutes after leaving the Entrance Station.
4.) Hunt and locate the Rougarou lurking along a trail or common areas, including the Fishing Pond, but not inside the RV or Tent Loop of the campground.
5.) Take a photo with the Rougarou and return to the Entrance Station with photo proof of your find.
6.) Fastest/best time will be the winner and declared the month’s Legendary Hunter of the Rougarou. Winner will be notified, receive a prize, and their photo will be posted to the park’s Facebook page.
7.) Only one individual participant will be chosen as the winner.
8.) Enjoy a day in the park hiking and exploring, and most importantly have some fun!
