With over 600+ waterway miles, fishing sites in Livingston Parish are extremely plentiful. Fishermen will easily find numerous boat launches and bait shops. Freshwater species include the largemouth bass, perch, crappie and speckled trout, as well as crawfish and crabs. Fishing is back to where it was before hurricanes Katrina and Rita stirred it into a frenzy.

For hunters, the most sought after species of game are white-tailed deer, squirrels, rabbits and raccoons. There are over 67,712 acres available to hunters on the nearby Maurepas Swamp Wildlife Management Area. More information may be found at the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries web site
